Becoming Brent_Logos_Type_Red.png

Brent is an incredibly vibrant borough, alive with a tapestry of cultures and communities, each contributing to the borough’s unique character. Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Brent Council, Becoming Brent responds to the 1924 and 1925 British Empire Exhibition’s legacy and impact on borough by inviting residents to explore and share the stories of the area in new and exciting ways.

Your voice is vital in helping us create a richer, more inclusive history of Brent. As we explore the complex and often overlooked stories of the past, we invite you to share your reflections, experiences, and questions with us. By engaging with our collective histories, we can work together towards a more just and equitable future.

Whether you live, work, study or visit Brent, your experiences are a key part of the borough’s ongoing story. Were you born here, or did you arrive later in life? What changes have you witnessed over time? We’d love to hear your memories, whether of growing up, attending school, or being part of the community through the years.

At Brent Museum and Archives, we believe that oral histories, told through the unique voices of our community, are essential to understanding local culture and heritage. These personal stories, often missing from traditional history books, are integral to our shared past.

Chronicle is pleased to be working with Brent on this exciting project and would encourage you to share your story with the project using our Storyquest app.  The app is completely free and is a simple way to record a story in the form of a photo and short voice recording and share it with the project.  Download the app from the appropriate link below:
